Thank you for using Michael. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Michael website, chat application, trainer tools, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information. Although it does not form part of these Terms, it is an important document that you should read.
Who we are
Michael is a conversational AI system designed to provide thoughtful dialogue and training experiences. The Services are made available to registered users and, in limited form, to guests.
Registration and access
Minimum age. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to consent to use the Services. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Accounts. You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Trainer access. Some users may be designated as trainers with additional access to training and oversight features. Trainer accounts are subject to these Terms and any additional guidelines provided to trainers.
Using the Services
What you can do. Subject to these Terms, you may access and use the Services for lawful personal or authorized professional purposes.
What you cannot do. You may not use the Services to:
- Violate any applicable law or the rights of others;
- Harass, threaten, or harm others;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other accounts, or underlying systems;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or programmatically extract data from the Services except as permitted by law;
- Represent AI-generated output as solely human-authored where that would be misleading in context;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services, including circumventing rate limits or safety measures; or
- Use the Services to develop competing models using outputs in violation of applicable law or policy.
Content
Your content.You may provide input to the Services (“Input”) and receive responses (“Output”). Input and Output are collectively “Content.” You are responsible for Content you provide and must have the rights necessary to submit it.
Ownership. As between you and us, you retain ownership of your Input. To the extent permitted by law, you may use Output for your permitted purposes. We may use Content as described in our Privacy Policy, including to operate, improve, and secure the Services.
Similarity. Because the Services use artificial intelligence, Output may not be unique and other users may receive similar responses.
AI limitations
Michael uses artificial intelligence and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. Output is not professional, medical, legal, or financial advice. You should independently verify important information and use your own judgment before relying on Output.
Third-party services
The Services may rely on third-party infrastructure or models. Those components may be subject to separate terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Services or other users. You may stop using the Services at any time.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).
Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
General
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
